The Permanent Secretary of Palma, Laurinda de Fátima, and the MASC Foundation held an important meeting to discuss the Kuinua Project, an initiative that is supporting women artisans in ten communities in the Palma District. The meeting, which took place on September 11, aimed to highlight the progress of the project, which is funded by ExxonMobil.
The Kuinua Project is dedicated to helping 250 craftswomen from Palma diversify their skills and obtain better livelihood opportunities. During the meeting, the Permanent Secretary praised the project for its approach focused on preserving the tradition of weaving and for implementing adult literacy programs. According to Laurinda de Fátima, education is key to empowering women and ensuring a brighter future for the communities involved.
The meeting underlined the positive impact that the initiative has generated so far and reinforced the commitment to continue supporting women’s empowerment in Palma.
